La luz y la forma ya habitaban el mundo antes de que les diéramos nombre. En la yuxtaposición de los collages de Luciana Barroso, cargados de imágenes totémicas que moran en espacios imaginarios; Daniel Rotela, con sus retablos hiperclaros, que bañan la mirada con las luces del recuerdo y las vistas iridiscentes en los paisajes y rostros que Lucas Lorizio crea, emerge una pregunta sobre esa luz y esas formas.

La recepción de un hotel es un lugar sobre todo de paso. Pero no por eso deja de ser un lugar. Y, si pudiéramos borrarnos así a nosotros mismos de esta situación, si en lugar de verla como la muestra de tres artistas argentinos en un hotel del barrio porteño de San Telmo, que también lo es, si la sintiéramos como algo que está pasando más allá de nosotros, quizás entendamos algo.

Quisiéramos que esta muestra sea el punto de pasaje hacia otras formas de ver y concebir el espacio. Formas paradojales, contradictorias, incongruentes. Formas que nos saquen de la repetición incesante de lo mismo, de ese paseo frívolo en el que a veces se convierte el turismo, y nos acerquen un poco a otras formas de conocer y contemplar.

Light and shapes inhabited the world before we gave them their names. In the juxtaposition of Luciana Barroso’s collages, loaded with totemic images that reside in imaginary spaces; Daniel Rotela’s hyperclear tableaus, which bathe the sight with the lights of remembrance and the iridescent vistas in the landscapes and portraits that Lucas Lorizio creates, an inquiry into that light and those shapes emerges.

A hotel’s reception is mostly a place to walk through. But it is still a place. It could be a point of passage toward other ways of seeing and conceiving space. And, if we could thus erase ourselves from this situation, if instead of seeing it as the show of three Argentinian artists in the portside neighbourhood of San Telmo, which it also is, if we felt it as something that is happening beyond ourselves, we might have accomplished something.

We would like this exhibition to be a point of passage toward other ways of seeing and conceiving space. Paradoxical, contradictory, incongruous ways, that lead away from the relentless repetition of the same, from that mindless stroll tourism sometimes turns into, and bring us closer to new ways of knowing and contemplating.
